This application will also serve as an email distribution list for the Reading Assessment and English Language Arts Assessment Offices. That means that besides signing up to be on a reading assessment committee you will also receive information on:

• Washington's Transition and Implementation of the Common Core State Standards. By 2014-15 these standards will be fully implemented and student achievement will be measured by a new assessment system.
• Assessments Aligned with the Standards The SMARTER Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) will create state-of-the-art online exams to provide accurate assessment information to teachers and others on the progress of all students, including those with disabilities, English Language Learners and low and high-performing students.
